The front page of a newspaper contains the most important stories of the day. Ideally, they will have happened in the country that the newspaper is circulated in but, if something happens in another part of the world that is very significant then it may make the front page too. A good front-page will also tease other interesting stories that are inside the paper. The word is also used as an adjective, meaning of major importance.
